.Having travelled to Oxford he was advised that two of his prospective opponents had failed to show and another overseas challenger had failed to register on time.

HOwever, the Lutonian said: “It’s disappointing to get a walk through (bye) as I was ready to go on the day and had been in the gym every day preparing, but it’s onto the next round and I’ve still got my sights on the Elite ABA’s in Liverpool.”

The resulting bye means that Reynolds will fight at Aylesbury Boxing club this Saturday in the Home Counties final and success will mean progression to Liverpool and the chance to fight some of the UK’s top talent.

Reynolds, who celebrated his 21st birthday on Tuesday by continuing his gruelling training project, continued: “I’ve been middleweight just over a year and it’s time I started pushing myself on.

“Getting to the Elites is my only focus now, maybe I’ll do a little bit of celebrating after that.”

Having won in Sweden last year and sparred with some of the UK’s finest pros recently, Reynolds will also be fighting in Holland on May 16 to gain even more international experience.

Boxing is at Aylesbury Amateur Boxing Club and starts at 2pm.
