Storey crowned champion for Academy

Luton Academy Boxing Club had great success over the weekend in the National Youth Championships held at Cheshunt ABC.

Frankie Storey became Home Counties champion in the 60kg category after a tough bout against the more experienced Faraz Abid from MK Victors.

Storey gave Abid two standing counts in the second round having knocked his man down twice, as he won the fight on all three judges score cards with a unanimous descision, making it 21 victories from 24 amateur fights.

Also representing The Academy was Tysie Gallegher who recently won the NAYPC Championships.

She went through to the next round with a bye as no other competitors weighed in on the day.

Cain Finnerty had his third skills bout showing some great potential and determination, displaying a bright future with the Academy.
