Lutonian fail to produce with the bat at Cople

The hosts chose to bat and were dismissed for 162 in 41.5 overs as Sulieman Mohammed finished with 5-22, while Umer Masood took 2-22 and Sajid Ali 2-33.

In reply, Lutonian were bowled out for just 94, Masood scoring 28 and Mohammed Haroon 23.

In the Bedfordshire Invitation Saturday League Division One match at Lower Wardown Park, Lutonian lost to Steppingley by three wickets.

Put into bat, Lutonian could only make 146 in 36.5 overs, while Steppingley made 149-7 in response.

Leaders Lutonian IIs beat Road Runners by 120 runs in Division Three to maintain their 100 per cent record.

Batting first, Lutonian made 166 all out, with captain Mahboob Baig hitting 28, while Asif Mushtaq (28) and Ehtasham Serwar (26) contributed.

Road Runners were then skittled for a paltry 46 as Serwar took a superb 6-9 and Yaseer Masood picked up 2-22.

In the Bedfordshire Youth Competition Development U12s South Division at Lower Wardown Park ground Lutonian beat Flitwick by 76 runs.

Lutonian chose to bat, reaching 148-10 from their 20 overs, with valuable contributions from Rahim Rayasat (11), Uzair Amjad (10), Bilal Hussain (10) and Zulkifl Malik (10).

In their reply, Flitwick could only muster 72-15 as Bilal Hussain took 4-0, Uzair Amjad 3-3, Aqeel Hussain 2-0, Aman Abbas 2-8, Ziean Ahmed 1-2, Rahim Rayasat 1-5, Anees Ramzan 2-8 and Ayaan Rauf 1-8.
