FA probe 'storm in teacup' says Hatters chairman

Inquiry ongoing, but Pinkney believes Luton have done no wrong

Luton chairman David Pinkney believes the FA probe into financial irregularities at Hatters will be a 'storm in a teacup'.

The FA have said only that the investigation is ongoing and have not given a timescale for the findings to be revealed.

But Pinkney said: "Following completion of due diligence and taking over the club, we are having to deal with alleged procedural irregularities.

"Again this is an inherited position, although it appears from everything I have seen that the problem was simply monies being primarily paid out of two accounts instead of just one.

"The payments were agreed anyway, so the issue appears to me to have been blown out of all proportion, but that is up to the FA to look at.

"I understand that they have concluded all their interviews and I am hoping they may view it as a storm in a teacup.

"There is nothing I can see where any money has been unaccounted for."
