Spot-kick woe for Town’s Ladies

editorial image

Luton Town Ladies exited the South East Combination League Cup at the quarter-final stage with a penalty shoot-out defeat to Ebbsfleet United on Sunday.

After trailing early on, Michelle Byrne equalised when her shot was parried into the net.

The match went into extra-time and with no further additions to the scoresheet, spot-kicks were needed, but Town fell apart, missing all three penalties as they lost 3-0.

Luton are back in league action on Sunday when they host Enfield Town.

Meanwhile, AFC Dunstable Ladies were victorious in their top-of-the-table Beds & Herts County Girls and Women’s League Open-Age Division One contest, beating Offley Ladies 2-1 at Creasey Park.
