AFC Dunstable U18s and Barton have both been dangled the carrot of a tie against League One Southend United in the FA Youth Cup.

The two sides meet each other in the third round qualifying round on Friday, 16th October at Sharpenhoe Road, Barton, with the winner at home to the Shrimpers in the first round proper.

AFC reached this stage with a convincing 7-0 win over St Neots Town last week.

Hankins was on target once more after half an hour, before Slatter finished off a slick move moments into the second half to make it 4-0.

With 20 minutes to go, Erin Amu bagged the fifth, while Jake Kissiedu hammered in a sixth goal and then Hankins completed his hat-trick on the stroke of full time.

Barton Rovers came up against Peterborough Northern Star in their second round qualifying tie.

They went 1-0 down in the first half, before falling further behind on 59 minutes,

However, a fine comeback saw Rovers scored three times in the closing stages to win 3-2, with goals from Kieran Reid, Tyler Ingham and Pat McCafferty

Meanwhile, Luton Town U18s have been drawn at home to League One side Colchester United in the first round.

Hatters will be hoping to better last season’s run where they suffered a shock second round exit at the hands of Oxford City.
