Lambs boss Law hopes for a change of luck against Hatters as players return

HAVING had two players sent off in the 3-1 home defeat by Luton, Tamworth boss Marcus Law believes his side are due a change of luck when they visit Kenilworth Road tomorrow.

Both Paul Green and Francino Francis were dismissed in that mid-December encounter and Law said: “We are definitely due some luck against Luton.

“In the last match we had a harsh sending-off against us and that cost us the game in the end, I think.

“Paul was sent off and he is a massive player for us. He is our captain and can play in a number of different positions and that did affect us.

“We will want to put that right this weekend against a team who are really flying in the league.

“We will have to defend like we have done in our last two games in the league, against Cambridge and Fleetwood, to get anything out of it, but I think we can do.

“I have worked the guys hard in training this week, we had a big three-hour fitness session on Monday.

“My aim is that, come Saturday, and for the rest of the season, we will be fit and ready to do what is needed.”

Town chief Gary Brabin though didn’t want to read too much into what had happened in the two sides’ earlier encounter.

He said: “If that’s the way he sees it... It’s gone now. I thought we thoroughly deserved the points on the day.

“I thought the sending offs for me they were. That game’s been and gone and I thought we thoroughly deserved the win on the day.

“It’s going to be a tough game, it’s going to be a different encounter. They are going to have the bit between their teeth and want to come here and spoil it for us but we’ve got to be better than that.”

Kieron St Aimie, Sam Habergham, Luke Hubbins and Green all returned to full training this week for the Lambs, while new signing Kyle Nix is also available.

Law added: “It will be nice to not have to play players out of position for a change. We haven’t had much luck with injuries.”
