Luton look to shear Lambs after their Harriers success

LUTON boss Gary Brabin is hoping to carry the confidence of their 3-1 victory at Tamworth earlier in the season into Saturday’s game against the Lambs, writes Mark Wood.

He said: “It does help with confidence. We want to win games. We come away from some games and we’ve won and we are disappointed with the performance, it hasn’t been ideal.

“We want to learn from that and beat teams and put on good performances. I think that’s always embedded in people’s head a bit more than when you just beat a team.

“We beat Tamworth and deservedly so, but that’s gone now. We’ve just got to grab all the confidence we can from that victory.”

Last Tuesday’s fine 2-1 victory at play-off challengers Kidderminster Harriers in the FA Trophy has also buoyed the Hatters.

Brabin added: “We go into games like Tuesday, performed the way we want to perform, played the way we want to play, and we’ve won the game as well and we’re delighted with that and that’s something we need to keep doing.

“I know it’s not always evident and not always easy (to play like that).

“Barcelona are certainly the best footballing team during my lifetime. And when we are watching it on the telly it looks easy.

“Why don’t we pass the balls and do that? It looks so easy – it’s not. You have to work hard.

“We want to play a certain type of football. We have good players, young players who certainly have got a big future, hopefully at this football club, certainly in football.

“We want them playing football in the right way, but it’s important we are winning football matches and we’ve got an aim at the end and that’s to win promotion.”
