ENERGETIC midfielder Danny Spiller has become Luton Town’s second signing in as many days.

The experienced 30-year-old former Millwall and Gillingham central midfielder has penned a two-year contract at Kenilworth Road a day after defender Ronnie Henry joined the club also on a two-year deal.

Boss Paul Buckle said: “Danny is an energiser. He fits the bill perfectly of what we need in the centre of midfield.

“He might be 30 but he’s got the legs and is incredibly mobile. He can pass and tackle to great effect.

“He’s also got the know-how and has played in the Championship for both Millwall and Gillingham - and that’s no mean feat.

“He’s able to play in a variety of positions too, should that be necessary and versatility in the squad is something I’m very keen on.”

Having begun his career as a youngster with Gillingham, he clocked up well over 100 League appearances and scored six goals for the Gills.

Having helped the Kent club achieve several mid-table finishes in the Championship, he signed for Millwall in 2007 and, although he failed to settle at the New Den, he still managed to score once in six starts.

Short spells with Wycombe, Welling and Dagenham & Redbridge followed before he returend to Priestfield in 2010 where he scored four times in 45 League appearances.
