Hatters boss John Still had to admit defeat in his attempts to make a final signing before the transfer window closed at 11pm this evening.
After the capture of Tottenham Hotspur attacker Nathan Oduwa on loan until the end of the season and winger Ryan Hall from Rotherham United, Still was working right up until the deadline passed to secure another addition.
There is a chance Town could return for their un-named target once the loan window opens next Tuesday as a statement on the club’s website said: “Manager John Still and chief executive Gary Sweet tried hard to secure the services of a third player but, despite extensive negotiations, were unable to do so in the final hour of the deadline. Remember the loan reopens next week. All is not lost.”
