Luton Town chief Nathan Jones isn’t looking to stand still at Kenilworth Road, even when he has his squad in place for next season.

Jones has stated a number of times he wants a smaller, higher quality group of players in place going into the new campaign.

“I’m a very ambitious person myself, a very ambitious manager, so I want to keep moving forward.”

With the likes of Alex Lawless, Jake Howells, Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu and Paul Benson all out of contract, Jones faces a number of decisions on their futures, but even when that is done, he is determined not to let things get stale.

The boss said: “Week by week we are evaluating everything, what we need to do to improve, what we need to improve individuals on and so on.

“So you are evaluating, but I think you’re constantly evaluating anyway when you’re at a football club unless you want your football club to stand still.

“I don’t think that evaluation progress ever stops, I don’t just think I want to get my squad in and then we’re done, no, I want to improve that squad, make it better.

“Anyone who doesn’t won’t be in that squad, so we’ll have a decision to make.

“I want to keep the club moving forward, by doing that, all the on field stuff has to keep moving forward.

“I’m a very ambitious person myself, a very ambitious manager, so I want to keep moving forward and want us all to keep moving forward together.”
