Hatters defender Scott Griffiths is hopeful that victory at Accrington Stanley tomorrow could be the start of a winning run.

The full back, who has been in impressive form so far this campaign, is also optimistic that Town’s strikers will come to the fore soon too.

Speaking after the 1-1 draw with Bury, he said: “I think if we can win the next one, confidence will be high in the team and could go on a run, so would be nice to do.

“They’ll all be tough games, everybody is out to beat each other, and everyone’s got a reputation.

“We’ve just go to go there, work as hard as we can and try and put a few away this time.”

Griffiths believes Town need to sharpen up their attacking thrust and that improvements will be put in place on the training field.

The defender wouldn’t mind seeing his name on the scoresheet either, saying: “We’re woking on our final pass, final strike or cross, we do a little bit of training on that.

“We do a lot on defensive work, a lot, so it would be nice to be involved in a crossing and shooting session

“I would like a goal, but you can’t ask for everything. I’m trying to get forward and helping out the strikers. One of my favourite parts of the game trying to get forward.”

Griffiths has found his position in the team altered recently, with boss John Still opting to change to a 3-5-2 formation at times.

The defender had no issues in playing wing back though, adding: “It shouldn’t really be difficult, we do it a lot in training, change from formation to formation.

“I’ve played wing back plenty of times for John Still back at Dagenham, once we settle into it and play it a few more times, I think it will flow even better than it has done.”
