Experienced midfielder Luke Guttridge could be in line for a return to the squad when Town start their League Two campaign at Carlisle United on Saturday.
The 32-year-old followed on from his second half appearance against Peterborough at the weekend by completing 90 minutes during Town’s 3-1 Beds Premier Cup triumph at Biggleswade Town on Monday night.
First team coach Hakan Hayrettin said: “It was a massive boost to see Luke Guttridge get some minutes.
“He’s a player that comes with high expectations, he’s a player that delivers and the sooner he’s ready the better for us.”
Midfielders Andy Parry and Jonathan Smith are still some way off though.
Parry played 45 minutes on Monday, scoring Town’s second, while Smith sat out of Luton’s 1-1 friendly draw with Peterborough on Saturday.
