The lure of first team football at Kenilworth Road was too much for Hatters’ on-loan QPR defender Michael Harriman to turn down.

Harriman, 21, would have spent another weekend confined to his settee had Luton not made their move last week.

Instead, after penning a one month loan deal, the full back returned to the thick of the action against Southend, as he said: “Unfortunately I didn’t make the 25-man squad at QPR so I couldn’t play there until January.

“For me, I didn’t want to sit around doing nothing, that’s why I’m here as I love playing football.

“I didn’t want to be sitting on Saturday on my sofa watching the results, I want to be out playing.

“I’m excited to be out there now and get first team action back under my belt.”

Despite being relatively young, Harriman has plenty of experience under his belt already, with a full season at Gillingham last year, plus a loan move to Wycombe the campaign before.

Although the deal is just for a month, Harriman wasn’t adverse to staying for a longer period too.
