Luton Town fell to a 4-0 defeat against a strong Bournemouth side in their Final Third Development League clash this afternoon.

The visitors handed starts to winger Danny Green and striker Paul Benson, and also included three members of their U18s squad.

However, they were no match for their Premier League opponents who fielded £3.5m signing Lee Tomlin and £2.5m striker Tokelo Rantie.

The Cherries were in front on 32 minutes when South African forward Rantie rounded Elliot Justham and squared for Yann Kermorgant who found the bottom corner.

Rantie and Kermongant then combined to set-up Tomlin for Cherries’ second goal shortly after the hour mark.

It was 3-0 when Rantie finished with aplomb on 73 minutes and he had a second goal four minutes later to seal the victory.

Hatters: Justham, Bean, Parry, Onyemah, Potts, Green, Howells, Bakinson, Hall, Verney, Benson.

Subs: Famewo, King, Cotter, McGhan-George.
