Luton Town have been drawn at home to Premier League side Stoke City in the Capital One Cup second round.

With the draw live on Sky Sports News, it had looked like Hatters would be entertaining fierce rivals Watford with just two balls left, but they instead were paired with the Potters, managed by former Chelsea and Manchester United star Mark Hughes.

It will be the first time that Stoke, who today signed Swiss star Xherdan Shaqiri from Inter Milan for £12m, have visited Kenilworth Road since August 2006.

Then, with both teams in the Championship, Luton held their opponents to a 2-2 draw, with Leon Barnett and Richard Langley on target.

The tie is due to be played the week commencing Monday, August 24.
