Back in July, the Hatters confirmed they had secured a long-term lease for a new training ground at Venue 360, with the private 17-acre site tol be known as ‘The Brache’ and become the daily base for Town's squad.

Although not completely finished just yet, Jones was able to put his players through their paces and on the first day there, he said: “It’s been brilliant, a wonderful facility.

“We’ve taken our time in moving into it because we wanted everything to be right, we didn’t want to move down and ruin the pitches.

“But we trained our first day down there today (Thursday). It’s a wonderful, wonderful facility.

“The actual buildings are coming along very, very well, the new 4G astroturf is not far off finished and then we’re able to train on one of the pitches which gave everyone a nice boost and a bit of a break from the training ground.

“It was a nice little lift, but a wonderful, wonderful facility and will be magnificent.”

On how much the squad will use it for the foreseeable future as the rest nears completion, Jones added: “Thursday’s our structural day and probably our most important tactical day so we’ll probably just be using it on a Thursday until we can actually move in properly.

“But it’s wonderful, great, shows the club’s ambition and trajectory they want to take in terms of the facilities, but it will be a wonderful, wonderful level.”
