Luton Town are holding an Open Day & Talent Identification Day for one of their college programmes based in Baldock today.

The event takes place at The Arena, Norton Road, Baldock, starting at 10am.

The course and partnership programme has been running for six years and fits into Luton’s long-term approach to youth development.

The programme consists of timetabled lessons for studying a BTEC diploma in Sport as well as participating in a minimum eight hours football coaching and fitness training each week. In their second year, they also have the opportunity to take Vocational Qualifications.

The programme is delivered by a full time Hatters ‘A’ & ‘B’ licensed coaches, while there will be midweek fixtures in the Football Conference Youth Alliance and British College League as well as playing in the FA Youth Cup and League Cups.

Student footballers that excel throughout the year will have the opportunity to train with the full time scholars at the club, play in Town’s youth team and possibly earn a full time scholarship at Kenilworth Road.
