Hatters rated v Plymouth Argyle

Matt Macey: 7.5 - Didn't have much to do, but handled what came his way very competently indeed. Distribution was excellent too and helped to add an authority and calmness to the defence.

James Justin: 7 - Late addition to the side after O’Donnell’s injury but didn’t let it affect him as he gave an assured display. Final ball may have let him down a touch on this occasion as the hosts’ crossing could have been better.

Jack Senior: 7.5 - Yet another solid display from the youngster who is making a real impression on the left hand side of Town’s back-line. One lovely cross was just inches away from Vassell’s head too.

Scott Cuthbert: 8.5 - Imperious at the back once more as he made sure Taylor never had any time to hold the ball up. Ventured forward from deep to good effect as well when bringing possession out from defence.

Alan Sheehan: 8 - Kept things tight and got on the ball whenever possible with Cuthbert looking after Taylor. Showed his versatility as swapped out to left back late with Hatters pushing for victory too.

Glen Rea: 7.5 - Got about his midfield opponents with gusto and helped Luton win plenty of the second balls. Kept it moving well too as the hosts tried to find a way through the massed Argyle ranks.

Jonathan Smith: 7 - Slightly less effective than he has been with Hatters enjoying the better of the game territorially, although one volley to the back post was just over Hylton. Taken off midway through the second period.

Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu (STAR MAN): 8.5 - Yet another assist after a brilliant burst from deep and then ball over the top for Hylton to do his thing. With Argyle sitting in he was the one causing the most problems when breaking forward.

Jordan Cook: 7 - Never really had the chance to add to his recent tally of three goals in six games but impressed in possession and often delivered dangerous set-pieces into the box.

Danny Hylton: 8 - Picked out superbly by Pelly for his 19th of the season, although still had plenty to do before beating McCormick. Few opportunities in the second period just eluded the striker at full stretch.

Isaac Vassell: 7 - Started like an express train as he looked like he had a point to prove against his former side. Should have been awarded a penalty, but influence faded slightly as the match wore on.

Ollie Palmer: 6.5 (SUB) - Added another element to Town’s front-line as ball just wouldn’t drop for him.

Luke Gambin: 6 (SUB) - One wonderful piece of skill by the corner flag but found himself well handled by Argyle.

Jack Marriott: 6.5 (SUB) - Injected some late pace into proceedings as Hatters searched for a winner.
