Elliot Justham: 7 - Keeper justified the decision to stay in the side with an excellent save from Stockley in the first half. Hugely unlucky for the winner too as Luton’s defence was far too slow to spot the danger.

Stephen O’Donnell: 6.5 - Definitely starting to settle into League Two more after making the switch from Scotland. Final ball still remains an issue though as too often it doesn’t beat the first man.

Scott Griffiths: 7 - Another more promising display from Griffiths who is starting look more like his old self again. Got forward to good effect when the chance arose too.

Scott Cuthbert: 7 - Centre half was unfortunate to divert Wilkinson’s clearance into the path of Evans for Pompey’s opener. Dominant display thereafter, but might have reacted quicker for Tubbs’ winner.

Luke Wilkinson: 7 - Former Portsmouth youngster is quickly developing an impressive partnership alongside Cuthbert. Lack of clean sheets must be driving him mad though now.

Mark O’Brien: 6 - Got stuck in to his role in front of the back four until injury forced him off at the break. Distribution at times remains an issue when Hatters try and build through midfield.

Josh McQuoid: 7.5 - Played out of position on the right of midfield and even found himself helping out at right back on occasion. Didn’t once shirk his responsibilities to the team though, putting every ounce of effort in. Great run to win the penalty too.

Jonathan Smith: 6 - Whole-hearted display from Smith who had to be careful after an early booking. Got through plenty of running once more as Pompey monopolised possession at times.

Cameron McGeehan: 6.5 - Came alive when thrust further forward in the second half. Always looks like he has a goal in him too, with efforts that flew inches wide of the mark.

Ryan Hall: 6 - Winger is still getting back to full fitness so can only benefit from minutes on the pitch. Appears to lacks full conviction in his abililty to regularly try and beat his man at times.

Craig Mackail-Smith: 6.5 - Off the mark at home with a confident penalty. Another game where chances were at a minimum as he was too often left playing with his back to goal.

Olly Lee (SUB): 7 - Glued the midfield together with his effective passing and always a willing outlet to receive possession. Looks an impressive addition.

Jack Marriott (SUB): 6 - Lively cameo from the young striker once again as he buzzed round to keep the Pompey defence on their toes.

Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu (SUB): 5 - Thrown on far too late to really make any kind of notable contribution.
