Midfielder Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu earned glowing praise after his superb display against Cambridge on Saturday.
The former West Ham youngster was particularly impressive in the second half, with some lung-bursting runs as United struggled to deal with him.
He saw a rocket of a shot cannon on to the bar, before on another rampage forward, he won Town the penalty after being clipped by Richard Tait.
Skipper Steve McNulty said: “He’s young, he’s athletic, he’s got a lot of pace.
“It’s great when the ball flies to him and he’s breaking lines, taking the pressure off you at the back.
“It’s brilliant to have someone like that, running into corners and I thought him and Jim (Stevenson) were great, sitting in front of us.”
Match-winner Mark Cullen agreed too as did boss John Still who labelled him an ‘unbelievable force’.
