Hatters midfielder Matt Robinson has made it clear he wants to return to Kenilworth Road after his month at Kidderminster Harriers according to boss John Still.

The 21-year-old who moved to Aggborough at the end of October has started all five games of his loan spell.

Despite getting regular football, Robinson intends to head back to Luton when his loan is up after Saturday’s trip to Altrincham and fight for a first team place.

Still said: “Matt only wanted to go for a month. We would have let him stay for another month, but he wants to come back and we don’t have a problem about that.

“I know this sounds really silly, but whenever we loan anyone, they can’t wait to come back.

“That’s not a reflection on the club that they’re at, but the way we do things here, the atmosphere that we have here and I think they do miss it.”

Still did admit that Robinson will find it tough to force his way back in particularly with Nathan Doyle and Jonathan Smith in such impressive form.

He added: “We know Matt’s a good player, we all feel for him because without his sending off (against Shrewsbury), he might still be in the team.

“But that’s football and Jim Stevenson too. We’re happy with Jim’s progress and when we just slightly changed it when we brought Doyle in, we weren’t sure that Smudge would be able to play every game after his broken leg.

“But he’s just kept getting stronger and stronger, although it’s good to have those choices around.

“We’ll see when he (Robinson) comes back. You know what football’s like, he comes back and bang there’s an opportunity pops up next week.

“It can happen like that so we’ll see.”
