Striker Ricky Miller has been backed to become a regular on the scoresheet at Kenilworth Road after netting his first goal during Town’s FA Cup win over Newport County AFC on Saturday.
The summer acquisition has been used sparingly since his move from Boston United, but came off the bench to convert Jake Howells’ corner in the second half.
Boss John Still said: “Ricky’s a goalscorer, he’s got pace, is sharp and bright and he got a goalscorers goal.
“That’s his first one, but I think there’s goals in him.
“We all think he’s got something, so I was pleased for him and it cheered his day up.”
Team-mate Jake Howells also felt that Miller’s first goal in Luton colours was just rewards as he said: “He works hard in training every day and when he comes on in games or starts, so I think he deserves his first goal
“He’s learning though, Rick’s got ability, but he’s still learning the game.
“I think the gaffer will look after him, play him when we need him to play and the gaffer will make him into a good player.”
