Town boss John Still is expecting form to go out the window this time of year as he prepares his side to welcome Hartlepool United to Kenilworth Road on Saturday afternoon.

The side from the North East haven’t won in their last four matches, but before that went on a four game winning streak that helped them move out of the relegation zone in League two.

Ronnie Moore’s side sit just a point and a position above the bottom two, as Still said: “Form goes out the window a bit when you’re under pressure I think.

“For all the teams battling at the top of the table and at the bottom, there’s not going to be a lot in it, and I think that will be the same on Saturday.

“You just have to look at the match on Wednesday between Burton and Carlisle to prove that.

“The thing is for all the teams battling at the top and at the bottom end of the table, when you play the games, there’s not going to be a lot in it.”

Goals from Mark Cullen and Jim Stevenson secured a 2-1 win in the return fixture between the clubs back in October, and Still feels the opponents have under achieved this term.

He said: “If you look at clubs like Carlisle or Hartlepool, both clubs are having a real go, they really have.

“Whoever they play and whatever system you play, this is a team that is giving everything they have got which is what you would expect.

“If I’m being honest and looking at the players, they probably have under-achieved a little bit, their players are better than their league position. But for whatever reason they’re not performing as they would like, I don’t know the reasons for that.

“Yet they’ve certainly picked up and put in some decent performances to give themselves a chance, it’s going to be tough for sure.
