Hatters boss John Still is hopeful Danny Green will now push on after his inclusion in the first team on Saturday.

The winger, who had not featured for the previous five games, replaced Alex lawless with 20 minutes remaining during the 2-1 FA Cup win at Crawley Town.

“I believe in him, I trust him, but he’s got to show it in training and in games.”

He impressed in his brief cameo as well, looking sharp and producing some excellent touches and crosses as Still said: “He did (look good) and he should do, he should be very fresh.

“I know what he can do, he hasn’t produced enough, but this might be his opportunity to show what he’s got.

“But I know what he can do, it’s got to be produced.

“He’s a good kid, sometimes people think it’s all just going to fall into place for them but it doesn’t.

“He’s come here, he’s got to make it work for himself, he really has.

“I believe in him, I trust him, but he’s got to show it in training and in games.

“I’ve got to see that urgency and that passion and if he can find that, the quality is no problem.

“His delivery is excellent, and he came inside once and I was sure he was going to shoot, as I’ve seen him score goals from those sorts of positions.

“He can add something to our game and that’s good for him and good for us as if we can get him right, it’s a massive, massive plus for us.”
