Hatters boss John Still will begin talks with Luke Rooney over a new contract at Kenilworth Road.
The 23-year-old has made seven appearances this season, scoring twice, but will see his short term deal end next month.
Still said: “We’re hoping to keep Luke here as he came out through injury when he was playing very well.”
Rooney was on target from the penalty sport as Luton defeated Dunstable Town 5-3 on spotkicks in last night’s Beds Senior Cup tie and has featured 13 times since joining Luton from Maidstone United last season, scoring twice.
