Hatters boss John Still would love to bring Norwich midfielder Cameron McGeehan back to Kenilworth Road in the future, but only on a permanent deal.
The 19-year-old was quick to become a favourite at Kenilworth Road last year, playing his part in Town’s Conference title triumph after scoring three times in 18 games.
Since returning to the Canaries, he has yet to feature for the first team, bar being unused sub in the Capital One Cup victory over Crawley Town back in August.
Still said: “We spoke to them and the amount of money they wanted was not for this level, not even for one up, I think it migh tbe right for one up from there.
“When we couldn’t do it, we were fortunate enough to be able to bring Nathan (Doyle) in.
“But, if it was possible to bring in Cameron McGeehan and within our structure of what we do, we would certainly be interested, because he’s a very good player.
“You know what, I know he plays for Norwich, but he’s a Luton player and is certainly someone if we could, we would,
“It’s not a situation I want to get involved with loaning, because we loaned last year because we had to, we didn’t have a choice.
“We’re not in a position where we have to loan now, we want to develop our own players. But would we be interested in bringing him here as a permanent? Yes we would.”
