Striker Joe Pigott has been released by Charlton Athletic following their relegation to League One.
The 22-year-old forward had come through the ranks at the Valley, making 16 appearances and scoring once for the Addicks since making his debut in August 2013.
However, Pigott spent last season out on loan at Southend and then Luton, where after a tough start, failing to score in his first 10 games, he netted four times in his last five matches, including a stunning long range effort against Exeter City.
Speaking about his strong end to the campaign, boss Nathan Jones said: “We need more, he’s developing, he’s a young kid, still only a young kid, inexperienced, only a handful of games, but he’s got plenty and it’s good for him as he endeavours.
“He takes stick from me as the ones I’ve brought in I’m probably harder on because it’s my reputation on the line as well, so I’m hard on Joe.
“But he’s a good kid with a broad pair of shoulders.”
