Hatters are suffering from an identity crisis
Money admits club is struggling with its status
Schizophrenic Luton are suffering from an 'identity crisis' according to manager Richard Money.
Speaking at Thursday's press conference he admitted the Hatters had had their 'arses smacked' for not playing to their full potential in the 3-2 home defeat to Ebbsfleet last week.
He said: "If they don't play to their maximum another Conference team can beat them."
"I fail to see how people can says it's an all-time low when we had taken 10 points from the previous four games.
"I think the reason there's been such an overreaction is that everybody felt that three points would bring the top three back within reach and now they look as far away as they did a month ago.
"I think we as a football club and as a team have an identity crisis in that we are not where we want to be.
"Luton and Luton in particular at Kenilworth Road will mean they will give what they've got to give their best performance.
"Maybe one or two are finding it difficult to get to grips with that? Maybe 6,500 are finding it difficult to get to grips with?
"I think we are having a bit of an identity crisis to be honest. All I hear is that we are in this league because of administration or whatever. We are in it because we are in it.
"In the main the players have been great but sometimes they let themselves down but shoot themselves in the foot like they did on Saturday."
