Henderson set for Hatters bow
Former Cobbler in squad for Chester trip
Ian Henderson is in line for a debut in Hatters colours against Chester this weekend.
The former Northampton Town frontman has completed his move to Kenilworth Road and, subject to Football League clearance, will be part of Luton's squad for the visit to the Deva Stadium.
Henderson joins a side that stretched their unbeaten run to seven games with victory against Lincoln on Sunday and manager Mick Harford believes he will be a good addition.
He said: "He can play anywhere along the frontline, in behind the front two, on the left or on the right.
"He's got good ability, good awareness. He's technically very good and will hold on to the ball for us and get himself into positions where he is hard to mark.
"He hasn't scored a lot of goals at Northampton, but hopefully we can improve on that."
Further good news on the playing front concerns Kevin Gallen who has had his loan deal extended for a further 10 days.
The Milton Keynes Dons striker has been a success in his short time at the club and Harford, understandably, is keen to keep him at the club.
He added: "We're trying to do it permanently until the end of the season and maybe longer, but Pete Winkelman at Milton Keynes was tryning to negotiate with Kevin so we've extended the loan for another couple of weeks.
"It will give Kevin an opportunity to negotiate with MK Dons to make himself a free agent and hopefully when he does that we can sign him until the end of the season."
Turning to the weekend's fixture, the Hatters will travel to the north west full of confidence and Harford wants a positive approach to be taken into the game.
He said: "We want to go there and start on the front foot, be nice and positive, nice and bright.
"There strength is up front and we believe their weakness is maybe in midfield and at the back so we'll set out a team that can hopefully beat them."
As to what Chester will produce, Harford is expecting to come up against a side that will try and knock the ball around, a style that is a reflection on how their manager - former Liverpool centre-half Mark Wright - used to play.
He continued: "I know Mark Wright very well, I know he likes to play three at the back.
"They'll try to play their way out of the back because that's the type of footballer he was.
"We'll mark our players cards about what Chester are about. We'll have a meeting when we get to the hotel, we'll have a run down about their team and their players and about how we are going to attack the game."
