Fontenelle’s depleted side travelled to Redditch on Monday, a team who have only been defeated once at home and managed to earn a point with a 0-0 draw.

The Dunstable manager said: “It was probably the most pleasing performance of the season, considering we literally had no players, I had one fit sub and myself.

“We’ve gone there and been against 400 fans and come out with a point, it is a brilliant achievement.”

Two players who haven’t seen regular first team football this season, goalkeeper Bart Pedrycz and fullback Gideon Okita, started against Redditch, and their performances clearly impressed Fontenelle.

He continued: “Bart has thoroughly impressed me, he has been working hard on his game and you can see the results of that.

“Gideon I know has a good background and upbringing, and my only concern was his age. But once he got to grips with the game on Monday he did fantastically, it is another massive positive for us.”

With his side taking on Kettering tonight, a team who have only lost twice at home this season and are currently just six points off fifth placed Leamington, Fontenelle is staying tight-lipped on what his side are aiming for come the end of the season.

He added: “We have got our own little targets we have set within the dressing room and so far we are on course for what we set out to do.

“If we upset a couple of people pushing at the right end of the table then so be it.”
