Crawley Green bowed out of the FA Cup when they lost 3-0 to Uxbridge from the Evo-Stik Southern League on Saturday.

Shots from Abobaker Eisa and Ben Peden quickly followed and Crawley’s Sam Pemberton then blocked another effort from Eisa as it was no surprise when Uxbridge doubled their lead on the half hour, when Matty Woods beat Pickard at his near post to make it 2-0.

Crawley responded with two Sam Peverall corners which were cleared and a disallowed goal from Charlie Clayton after a good run from Mario Santos-Costa.

However, on 41 minutes Uxbridge killed the game when Woods slotted home after being set up by the impressive Eisa.

On the stroke of half time Pickard saved well from Wayne Carter, but Crawley switched ends trailiing 3-0.

After the break, the hosts improved somewhat as Peverall fired over, although Green’s Stuart Strange blocked Woods’ shot, with the striker having another effort saved by Pickard.

Crawley’s Henry Mungwira began to inject some more pace into the Crawley attack and had a shot blocked on the hour, while JJ Billy saw his attempt saved by Paul McCarthy.

In the closing stages Eisa set up Sekani McCalmon who shot wide and Crawley responded with another Peverall corner which was cleared.

Green travel to FC Broxbourne Borough in the league this weekend and travel to Oxhey Jets on Tuesday night.
