Oakley close in on Beds League title as Renhold falter

The draw took their unbeaten run in the Premier Division supported by Sportsform to 10 games, Reuben Hukin netting their goal against the home reply from Jack Harding.

They learned post match that Renhold United had been beaten for the third time inside a week.

Now in second place, some five points adrift of the leaders, are Wilstead who won 3-1 at Caldecote. Colin Marshall, Stuart Robson and Jim Struthers with a long range cracker scored the goals to do the damage against a lone home reply from Dan Fennell.

Renhold United vacated that second spot after being beaten 2-1 at home by Flitwick Town. Dave Keefe and Josh Reynolds were on the Town scoresheet against a lone United reply via Wesley Lewis.

It was a victory that now takes the Town up into fourth spot ahead of AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College who were beaten 4-1 at Ampthill Town Reserves. Tom Bates, Josh Wilson, Jake Keech and Luke Kelly were on the home scoresheet against one in reply via Courtney Boughton. The biggest win of the day belonged to Sharnbrook who ran out 5-0 home winners over Cranfield United, Jim Burnside with a brace plus single strikes from Louis Green, Patrick Mulvihill and David Mulvihill netting the goals to bring up the nap hand.

Whilst bottom of the table Elstow Abbey came within two minutes of claiming just their second home win of the season at the Warren against the visiting Ickwell & Old Warden. Ben Robinson fired the visitors ahead in the 20th minute only to see first Jhey Tompkins level matters five minutes into the new period and then James Pedley shoot the Abbey ahead with 20 minutes left to play.

Alas for the Abbey, Conor Green squared matters up in the 88th minute to give his side a share of the spoils and extend their unbeaten away run to three games.

Division One supported by Wests Citroen Bedford

There is no change at the head of the Division One supported by Wests Citroen Bedford League table following wins for the top four clubs. League leaders Sundon Park Rangers went nap to win 5-2 at Ickleford thanks to a hat-trick from Shaka Anderson and single strikes from Chris Hazell and Nash Bennett against home replies via Gareth Head and Nico Miceli.

Whilst second place Stevington won 2-1 at Henlow for whom Antony Bowskill was on target for the home side.

Meantime third place Queens Park Crescents took their unbeaten home run to five games by beating bottom of the table AFC Oakley M&DH Reserves 3-2. Shazed Sattar, Anish Khinda and Myles Ferraro were on their scoresheet against a brace in reply from Rhys Allen.

Whilst fourth place Meltis Albion won 3-1 at Westoning. Carl Townsend netting twice and Matthew Heraghty once against a lone home reply from Cody O’Neill.

There were goals aplenty at Hillgrounds where fifth place AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Reserves were held to a 4-4 draw by Riseley Sports who were duly ending their season with their fourth consecutive draw to leave them unbeaten in their last six outings of the campaign. Giovanni Moscaritolo with a brace plus Elliot West and Jesse Sidhu scored for Town against Sports replies via Mark Darlow twice plus James Law and Jack Healy.

Elsewhere second from bottom Houghton Athletic suffered their ninth consecutive defeat when beaten 4-3 at home by now sixth place Potton Town. James Wills with a hat-trick plus James Pyman netted for the Town against home replies via Jordan Thomas twice plus Shaun Fahy.

Division Two

In the top of the table clash at Grange Road league leaders Cople & Bedford SA were to emerge 3-2 home winners over Cranfield United Reserves, who started the day just goal difference behind them in the league - but with this defeat now drop down to third spot following Clapham Sports 4-2 victory at Flitwick Town Reserves.

On the mark for SA were Ollie Hughes, Gary Canzano and Tom Marwood against United replies via Adam Kerr and Luke Gray. Whilst at the Football Centre it was win number 10 on the bounce for the now second placed Clapham Sports. Ishmael George, Liam Bolton, Glen Tumulty and Marko Tubozic were on their scoresheet against Town replies from Mark Funnell and Scott Gadsden.

Down at the other end Marston Shelton Rovers Reserves lifted themselves off the bottom by ending their eight game losing run with a 4-1 victory at Lea Sports PSG. Jamie Cerminara with a brace were joined on the scoresheet by Ryan Mattock and Robert Taylor against a lone PSG reply via Will Tyler.

Now sitting on the bottom of the table are Kempston Athletic who suffered defeat number six on the bounce when beaten 4-2 at home by Bedford United. Gary Philipson with a hat-trick plus Simon Wade on the United scoresheet against Athletic replies via James Maxwell and Danny Bibby.

Division Three

Wixams, in retaining their 100% home record with a 2-0 win over second place Sundon Park Rovers, duly claimed the 2015-16 season division three league title. Iain Hall and Jonny Cockram scored the goals to do the damage.

Whilst just down the road at Jubilee Playing Fields third place Wilstead Reserves who have two games in hand on the Rovers moved to within four points of them despite being held to a 5-5 draw by Shefford Town & Campton A who led the match three times. Luke Pursey with a brace plus Scott Dora, Sam Ward and Liam Reed were on the home scoresheet against Town replies via an opening minute own goal plus single strikes from Michael Castle, Liam Radley, Tristan Potkins and Liam Beaumont who drew the sides level at 5-5 just seven minutes from time.

For fourth place Caldecote Reserves it was a 6-4 victory at bottom of the table Clifton. Simon Ashton with a hat-trick was joined on the scoresheet by Josh St Pierre Clare who netted twice and Adam Legate against home replies via Charlie Watson with a brace plus Adam Morris and Dylan Donaldson.

Whilst fifth place AFC Dunton could only share the spoils from a 1-1 draw at second from bottom of the table Sandy Reserves. Jonnie Stratford netting for the home side and James Fuller replying for Dunton.

Also ending all square was the clash at Miller Road between hosts Meltis Albion Reserves and Renhold United Reserves where both sides failed to find the back of the net.

Elsewhere having lost their last three away outings White Eagles returned to winning ways on the road with a 5-3 victory at Dinamo Flitwick. Michal Michalski and Emil Korzeniewski with braces plus Marcin Ptak were on the scoresheet to bring up the nap hand against a home hat-trick from Josh Pearson in reply.

Division Four

Mid Beds Tigers ended their championship winning season with a 3-2 victory at Stevington Reserves thanks to goals from Liam Brophy, Steve Monks and Luke Rudd.

Whilst the battle for the silver medals will now go to the wire. Current second place Bedford Albion finished their season by winning 4-2 at Flitwick Town A with goals from Shaun Challi, Steve Slater, Paul Babbington and Jack Brown against a home brace in reply from Ross Irving.

This leaves them just two points ahead of third place Caldecote A who emerged the 4-2 winners at Westoning Reserves thanks to a brace from Kieran Paterson plus single strikes from Neil Giles and Oscar Smith. With two games left to play they are perhaps now the favorites to overhaul the Albion and collect those silver medals. James Lovett and Thomas Cooksley were the boys on the home scoresheet.

Elsewhere Polonia Bedford returned to winning ways on the road with a 3-0 victory at Henlow Reserves thanks to goals from Filip Otocki, Wojciech Plizga and Piotr Armata.
