Rovers announce a host of new signings
The former St Albans manager and Rovers player, who was recently appointed as the new chief at Sharpenhoe Road has brought in the likes of ex-Luton Town youngster Charlie Smith, along with St Ives defender Steven Gentle.
On his first few weeks in charge, plus the new additions, Gray, who takes over a side that finished a disappointing 18th place last term after being in the play-offs the previous season, said: “We are really pleased with our work so far during pre season.

“We have put together a good nucleus now and the balance of the squad is already taking shape.
“We are putting in place a structure and are signing young, hungry players along with the required experience to take us on a level this season.
“Charlie Smith, Sam Doolan, Elliot Bailey and Billy Adcock have all played higher level and I believe should still be.

“Steve Gentle and Dan Hutchins were both promoted from this league last season and will be very valuable for us this term.”
Gray has also moved to re-sign a number of the squad from last term, as he added: “Paul Andrews, Alex O’Brien, Jack Keating, Matty Nolan and Kyle Forster were all players I wanted to tie up so I’m really delighted with the way preparations are going.
“We are back in pre-season next Tuesday where the rest of last season’s squad have all been invited back plus four or five we are looking to sign.
“As a management team we demand high standards which is mirrored by the club so I’m sure we are all in for some exciting times ahead.”
