Luton Town’s promotion party was put on hold as they lost 3-2 to Braintree at Kenilworth Road on Saturday, writes Mike Simmonds.
Hatters fell behind on 16 minutes when Dean Wells scored, before James Mulley made it 2-0 shortly afterwards.
The Iron were then reduced to 10 men as keeper Nick Hamann was sent off, but in the second period, Braintree increased their lead as Chez Isaac netted.
Town then mounted a comeback, as Jake Howells converted from the penalty spot and Alex Wall thundered in a deflected volley, but try as they might, Hatters couldn’t force an equaliser.
