Since taking over in January, Jones has seen his team notch 21 times in 19 games, but manage just six goals in 10 home matches.

They have only netted twice on one occasion at Kenilworth Road, drawing five blanks, and speaking after Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Newport, Jones said: “I would say we’ve had 15 opportunities to score a goal and we didn’t.

“The amount of work we do, that’s a personal thing, that’s a quality and we have to make sure we address that in players that we bring in.

“Because that’s what I want to do, I want to improve the quality.

“There’s not going to be masses of players, but the players we bring in are going to have quality and the players need to handle that as I’m a bit baffled by the points haul we’ve had here (at Kenilworth Road).

“We’ve had more possession, more chances, more crosses, more shots than we’ve had away from home yet we win games away from home on a regular basis.”
