Hatters rated v Wycombe Wanderers

Elliot Justham: 7.5 - Confident display as he commanded his area well, came out for crosses, with his handling secure throughout. Distribution was better as well, so a real shot in the arm for the keeper.

Stephen O’Donnell: 7.5 - Very little danger came down his flank as he kept the Chairboys’ attackers quiet. The odd foray forward but is quickly becoming one of Luton’s most improved players this term.

Jake Howells: 7.5 - Making the left back slot his own these days with another good performance as he continues to do his chances of extending his Hatters career beyond this season no harm at all.

Alan Sheehan: 8 - One nervy moment during the first half when he was easily out-paced by Harriman but recovered his composure afterwards to help Hatters to a third clean sheet in five games since joining.

Scott Cuthbert: 8 - Skipper took a nasty whack early on but recovered to play a full role in Town’s shut out. Dominated aerially against the impressive Ugwu as he got good distance on his headers.

Alex Lawless (STAR MAN): 8 - In the engine room for Hatters and did a fine job as second half especially, he was first to the ball, always keeping the visitors ticking over. How he didn’t win even a free kick when sent tumbling when clean through remains a mystery.

Olly Lee: 7 - Midfielder didn’t really feature too much in the first half, but put in a real shift after that. Some good passing kept Luton on the front foot too.

Cameron McGeehan: 7.5 - Stunning strike proved the difference as this time he was far more selective in his shooting. Clearly relishing his role in the side under new boss Nathan Jones.

Craig Mackail-Smith: 8 - Out in a wider role once more but gave everything to the cause, particularly in the second half as he drove Luton up the pitch time and time again. Inches away from a deserved goal too.

Jack Marriott: 7 - Like the rest of the side, was far better from about half an hour onwards, with his pace stretching the Wanderers defence. Came close with a volley that was well repelled by Allsop.

Joe Pigott: 6.5 - Forward was starved of service early on, with Luton unable to get into the Wycombe half at times. Huge appeals for a penalty waved away before being replaced by Benson.

Paul Benson (SUB): 7.5 - Brought on with half an hour to go and gave an expert display of how to play the lone striker role. Linked up superbly with Mackail-Smith and desperately unlucky not to score when denied by the post.

Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu (SUB): 7 - Had the last 20 and his pace and explosive power were perfect for Luton to try and exploit Wycombe on the counter.

Paddy McCourt (SUB): 6.5 - Brief cameo for McCourt this time to replace McGeehan but allowed Luton to hold on to possession and run the clock down.
