First team coach Hakan Hayrettin admitted that Luton’s celebrations took their toll during the 2-1 Beds County Cup final defeat against Biggleswade Town on Thursday night.
Town had led through Alex Wall’s goal just before the break at Kenilworth Road, but brothers Sam and Lee Reed both scored for the Waders in the second period as they retained the trophy.
Hayrettin said: “The boys know they didn’t do well.
“We’ve had two weeks of celebrating which is going to take its toll on you.
“Fair play to Biggleswade they did ok – we didn’t take our chances or play to our full potential but that’s football.”
