Howells feels '˜disrespected' after Luton exit
Howells, who made 334 appearances in his decade at Kenilworth Road, along with Alex Lawless, were the two headline departures from manager Nathan Jones’ retained list published on the official website.
The 25-year-old wrote on Twitter: “My time at Luton Town has come to an end, absolutely gutted I couldn’t go on to make my testimonial and to play more games.

Hide Ad“Feel bit disrespected after how long I have been with the club and been so loyal with them through minus points, relegations and administrations, that they have left it until the last day to tell me I won’t be getting my contract renewed.
“Shame to end that way, also didn’t get a chance to say goodbye and show my appreciation for all the years.
“Can’t thank the fans enough for supporting me since day one.
“Wish the club every bit of success in the future. 334 and out*.”

Hide AdLawless, who like Howells, excelled during Saturday’s 4-1 victory over Exeter on Saturday, has also left the club after making 203 appearances. since signing back in 2010.
Hatters have also confirmed Paul Benson, Isaac Galliford, Scott Griffiths, Ryan Hall, Mark Onyemah, Luke Trotman and Curtley Williams will leave Kenilworth Road when their contracts expire next month.
As revealed previously, Zane Banton and Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu have been offered new one year deals, while young keeper Craig King’s contract has been extended for another year.
Meanwhile, Mark O’Brien, Magnus Okuonghae and Matthew Robinson have been placed on the transfer list as Jones looks to streamline his squad for the new campaign.
