The Luton chief is content with the defensive aspect of the squad now, after recently bringing in centre halves Alan Sheehan and Johnny Mullins, plus remaining heavily linked with a move for Brighton’s Glen Rea as well.

Although striker Danny Hylton has joined from Oxford, it’s at that end of the pitch where Jones is focusing on improving, as he said: “We know who want, it would be unfair on me to say, but we’re not finished yet, and there’s still one or things to do until we’re ready.

“Defensively I think we’re strong, so I would like to bring in a little bit more of an attacking prowess.

“Even though we’ve got a real good abundance of that at the club already, it’s always nice to have different options.

“So we’re going to hopefully bring in two things that we haven’t got and then we should be pretty much done.”

Reflecting on his summer business to date, which included the addition of Brighton keeper Christian Walton on a season-long loan deal yesterday too, Jones added: “When we came in, we had a squad of 27 players which I said a million times was too many.

“We felt that the quality wasn’t there right throughout every player, because the budget was spread a little thinner than we would have liked.

“We’re now sort of thickening that spreading process up a little bit and have got a little bit more quality there we feel, so we’re continuing that, we’re in talks with a few and hopefully we can have a little bit of movement in the next few days.

“Because I would like to get most things done before we go to Hungary as it gives us a real good position to work from.”
