New Hatters signing Luke Rooney is already looking at extending his stay beyond the end of the season, writes Mike Simmonds.
The 23-year-old winger has penned a deal until May but confirmed he was looking to make Town his permanent home.
He said: “As soon as John and the chairman showed an interest, they said it’s something they want to do long term.
“Now I’ve seen what the club is like, it’s definitely something I’d like to do long term.”
Rooney started his career at Gillingham, before earning a big move to Swindon Town in 2012 for an undisclosed fee.
When released from the County Ground in January, he eventually ended up at Ryman Premier League side Maidstone United.
Always on Hatters boss John Still’s radar though, Rooney admitted he was finally falling back in love with the game again after a spell in non-league.
