Lively striker Andy Mangan is training with Luton Town following his release by Skrill Premier rivals Forest Green Rovers, writes Mark Wood.
The timing of his departure from the New Lawn means he is unable to play for anyone else this season and Town chief John Still is letting him train with the Hatters as a ‘favour’.
Mangan, 27, is a good friend of influential centre-half Steve McNulty, with whom he played at Fleetwood Town, as the Cod Army won promotion from the Conference the season before last.
He played nine times for Rovers this season without finding the net before having his contract terminated on February 5 after he had been suspended by the club since October.
However, he has real pedigree having scored almost 90 times in under 300 games for the likes of Forest Green, Fleetwood, Wrexham, Accrington and Bury, after starting his career at Blackpool.
