Woking are hopeful of extending Scott Rendell’s loan deal until the end of the year as his initial month comes to an end.
Director of football Geoff Chapple said: “We have a gentlemen’s agreement to take Scott until Boxing Day. He has done 37 days but to get the 93, which is the maximum, he has to have a 10-day break and that works out well because of the FA Cup game when he couldn’t play for us anyway.
“Hopefully, if negotiations go well, Scott will be available for Grimsby.
“Scott is very happy with us but anything could happen in the 10-day break. I’m optimistic but nothing surprises me in football – someone could come in for him.”
“We’ve been up front with them and hopefully our words at the start of the agreement are still worth something, but there’s nothing to stop someone coming in and buying him.”
