Luton earn fine win away to table-toppers Blueharts

LUTON Town’s men earned a fine 4-2 win at top of the table Blueharts IIs in East Men’s Hockey League Division Three South West.

The hosts led 1-0 at half time, with Luton needing to up their game, and they did just that after the break.

First Matt Corder played in Graham Bright, who deflected it past the keeper, and that goal seemed to energise the visitors.

Carter Bright added a second, while Kev Stewart made it 3-1, before Bright missed from the penalty spot.

Blueharts pulled a goal back, but youngster Luke Titmuss, in only his third firsts’ game, netted the fourth.

Luton Ladies were 3-2 winners over Shefford and Sandy in Five Counties Women’s Hockey League Division One.

Luton went 1-0 up early on, before Shefford came back to equalise. Town netted twice more and, although Shefford grabbed a consolation, it was too little.

Luton’s goals came from Debbie College, Stacey Fensome and star player Artie Patel.
