Luton Athletic Club, sponsored by Gibbs and Dandy and supported by Luton Rotary Club, finished a close fourth in their first Southern Athletics League match of the season.
Luton travelled to Ipswich on Saturday where only nine points separated the teams in second, third and fourth position as Ipswich (210) triumphed from West Suffolk and Diss (164), Havering (161) and Luton (155).
The day started well with a double victory in the hammer throw with Suzanna Wise winning with 45.37m and Vicky Hill taking the B event with a PB of 30.51m.
Hill followed this with third place in the shot (8.53m), while Wise was second in the B event with 8.04m, with Wise then second in the discus with 35.56m as Hill was fourth in the B event with 18.24m.
In the javelin, Wise and Hill were both third, while Wise finished her day clearing a height of 1.0m for fourth in the B High Jump and running the 2,000m steeplechase in 11.14.6mins. Rebecca Hawtin was second in the high jump with a height of 1.5m.
On the track there were double wins for Rosie Keane and Christine Lathwell in the 3,000m. Keane ran a PB of 9.52.6mins, a new club record and Lathwell finished in 11.39.9mins.
Later in the afternoon they were in action again winning the 1,500m races, while Lathwell then took second in the steeplechase, clocking 8.51.7mins. In the 800m races there were second places for Rosie Canham with 2.29.5mins and Jasmine Watson in 2.54.1mins, as Anna Bright ran a brilliant non-scoring race in 2.29.3mins.
New team member Kathryn Canham ran 63.7secs to finish third in the 400m races, while Jasmine Watson timed 72.5secs in her third place.
Shanara Hibbert got off to a good start, winning the long jump with 5.65m, while Jazmine Barnett was fourth in the B event with 3.55m.
Barnett was also in action in the triple jump, finishing in fourth with 9.37m and also claimed third in the 400m hurdles in 76.7secs.
