Luton Town HC men were held to a 2-2 draw by Bedford IIIs last weekend.

The visitors started well in their East Men’s League Division Three SW clash and took the lead through Rob Shearer.

Anwar Yusuf then netted from close range as Luton changed ends 2-0 in front, but after the break, Bedford pushed forward and scored twice to earn a point.

The IIs lost 2-1 at home to Bluehart IVs in Division Five SW, as Alan Clark scored, with the IIIs held 3-3 by Royston IIIs in Division Seven SW.

Luton had a difficult start going 2-0 down in the opening minutes, but were able to level before half time with goals from Dean Pierce and William King.

Royston re-took the lead straight after the interval, although Luton kept fighting and equalised once again through King, who almost grabbed a winner, striking the bar late on.

Luton Vagrants also beat Potters Bar IIIs 3-1 in the same division.

Luton Ladies drew 2-2 with Saffron Walden in their Five Counties League Premier Division clash thanks to goals from Helen Beattie and Suzanne Starkey.

The IIs lost 5-0 to Broxbourne, while Chiltern IIIs were 2-0 winners at Royston in Division Five with star player Carly Grimmer and Becca Elias on target.
