Five-game ban upheld
Inspirational Luton Town skipper Kevin Nicholls will miss the start of next season after the FA upheld their decision to hand him a five-match ban.
The all-action midfielder was handed the punishment after he was deemed to have incited the Kenilworth Road clash following their controversial 3-3 draw with Bradford City back in January.
Referee Trevor Kettle had incensed Luton's players and fans by awarding the Bantams a dubious injury-time penalty that enabled them to level the scores.
The Hatters had hoped that the FA would change their mind, but manager Mick Harford yesterday confirmed: "The decision has been upheld."
Nicholls was set to miss all but the last game of the season when he was handed the ban, but the appeal meant that he was able to play a part in Luton's ultimately vain fight against relegation.
