Poku has potential says Money

Promising youngster could be more than just a squad member

Richard Money believes that Godfrey Poku has a chance of forcing his way into the first team frame.

Poku, along with Jonathan O'Donnell, has returned to Kenilworth Road following the conclusion of his loan spell at his former club St Albans, and Money feels that he could offer more than just being a welcome boost to the squad numbers.

He said: "I genuinely think that Godfrey especially might be a little bit more than that.

"I know that he's had a very good month at St Albans and they're very pleased with him so who knows what's going to happen.

"We've got a lot of reserve games so they'll all get a lot of football between now and the end of April."

Poku and O'Donnell's loan deals at the Saints came to an end following the Conference South club's 1-0 win at Havant & Waterlooville last Monday and boss Steve Castle commended their efforts.

He said: "Hopefully we can keep Jake (Beecroft from Rushden & Diamonds) - but all three of them on behalf of the football club I would thank them and wish them all the best with their futures because they're good honest lads who've put their heart and soul in every time they've played for the football club."
