Renegades produce fantastic fightback

Sunday football round-up

A stunning comeback earned Luton Renegades a point from their Luton Sunday League clash with One Nation.

At 4-0 down with 30 minutes left on the clock, the Renegades should have been out of it, but they somehow clawed their way back into the contest and it ended up 5-5.

Warren Canney led the fightback with a hat-trick with the other goals coming courtesy of Marco Martins and Neil Brightman.

Team BYL went down to a 5-1 defeat at the hands of league leaders USL Rams, a result that puts the victors six points ahead of the Renegades with the benefit of two games in hand.

In-form Rhinos continued their good run with a 3-2 victory against Chalton Athletic while Luton Rovers completed a comfortable 4-1 win against Rising Sun.

The Eagles were back on level terms within 60 seconds and although both sid es created enough chances to have won the game – the Eagles having a goal disallowed for offside 15 minutes from time - both keepers performed well to keep the scores level.

Goals from Alex Thorrington, Daniel Doherty and James McMulkin couldn't prevent Co-op Sports from going down to a 6-3 defeat at Markyate in Division Three.
