Allen to leave Luton RFC

Luton RFC head coach Paul Allen will leave the club at the end of the season.

Allen, who is also director of rugby at Newlands Road, will be taking on a role with the School of Hard Knocks charity.

In addition to this, he will also move to Hertford RFC to take up a position that will see him overseeing senior coaching there.

Allen said: “It’s been a great three seasons at Luton RFC but teams often need to hear a fresh voice and a different approach.

“Related to that, Hertford got in touch and offered me the director of rugby role. The chance to work in a higher league is what I have always aspired to achieve.

“I have no doubt I will remain in touch with the new coaching team when they are appointed and certainly the membership who have really supported me.”

Meanwhile, chairman Mark Turner praised Allen’s significant contribution since joining and for the full story, see the News/Gazette on sale now.
